Art in Web3, with a concrete purpose
For INDX-C.IO, Web3 is not a label to attach to every artwork. Blockchain, tokens and NFTs make sense when they solve a real problem: documenting provenance, connecting creator and artwork, managing access or creating new relationships with audiences.
Where Web3 can add value
Provenance. Record verifiable events, attestations or references connected to an artwork or digital asset.
Digital twin. Link a physical artwork to an identifiable digital counterpart without confusing the token with the artwork itself.
Editions and certificates. Manage numbering, series or digital attestations when the project requires them.
Access and community. Use tokens or credentials for experiences, content, events or reserved services.
When it is not needed
When a database is enough
Not every piece of information needs a blockchain. If a centralized solution is simpler and more reliable, it should be preferred.
When verification is missing
Putting data on-chain does not make false or unverified data true. Source quality remains essential.
When there is no utility
An NFT created without function, context or a meaningful relationship to the artwork adds complexity, not necessarily value.
